It has been a long time since I last updated my journal.

Since then I have gone to Northampton University to read joint honours Criminology and Media Production.

There have been many up and downs, with problems with tutors and flat mates, but I have enjoyed the course. In did three modules in Media Production: Moving Image, Still Image and Sound. I have learnt so much in sound, improved my skills in editting film and learnt absolutly nothing in Still Image other than how much abuse I can take from a tutor. I also got to meet the amazing Lorna Jownet who writes and lectures on Buffy the Vampire Slayer - not a fandom I am involved in but what she does with her critical writting on the hidden cirriculum with the diegesis is something I would love to bring to other fandoms closer to my heart.

  I have discovered a love for criminology and my priorities have changed because of it. I originally wanted to do criminology as a said topic but now know that it is with this subject that my interest belongs. I intend to major in it next year, even if that means giving up my only module in script writting, which is what I originally wanted to do in Media. I think I will become a Police Officer and aim to enter into CID at some point (I don't feel that the dog sqad would be right for me). However before I do that, I intend to travel more with my trusty camera. I will keep up with my art and photography with the hope to one day exhibit my work in on of the small local galleries.

However drawing and photography won't be my main artistic skill. I intend to oneday write a book in the style of James Herriot on my experiences within the policeforce if that is the career path I do adventually take. It has been over the last two years that I have rediscovered my love for story writting and have overcome many of my difficulties with spelling and grammar enough to be able to fluently express myself.

It has been a long tough year that has seemed to me like falling down a deep dark hole of failure and misery but now it feels like there is light at the end of the tunnel (mised metaphor I know), I have regained my confidence in my academic skills and refound what it was that I once loved about education but the school system attempted and nearly succeeded in stamping out of me. After my last exam tomorrow I intend to enjoy my summer to the full with my friends and family.

If I could pick one thing that I have learnt this year it is that your integrity is the most important thing in the world, to be able to go to your grave saying that I have been unashamedly myself then you have suceeded and done what most aim to but few achieve. Everyone is different and that is fine, brillaint even, there is no better or worse way to be, looking down on others or viewing yourself as different will not bring you any happiness.

This year I have learnt to trust my friends and have found out how much they mean to me, people like Fern_tree and Xiilnek on DA, I am forever greatful to have you guys and others I have found out how much I miss them when they are not around like Scarletdangerfield.

Also while I am on the subject of good news, Holly is nearly back to full health (well almost) and is back competing in Agility and I am also running my sisters dog, Pixie, a lot of the time which I am greatly enjoying.

And before I forget have to say Hi to my Dad. Who, much to my horror, I discovered knows of this account and regulary looks on it *waves* Heyyyyyy Dadddy!!!! *isn't overly impressed* I think my disclaimer will have to be similar to that old saying about evesdropping; if one stalks ones offsprings DA don't expect to see something you like. But he was very good about it, said that he understood that some of the drawings were 'artistic' which I think is a very nice if slightly in denial way to describe seeing your offspring's drawings of sexual intercourse between two male characters from a tv show you are fond of. Bless him, you couldn't really do much better for a Dad (unless your Dad is Burt Hummel).

Well this has been a very long update, with very little actually said.
